About Us:
Maple River Farms is located in the heart of central Michigan in the Maple River valley.
The farm was established with the goal of introducing Miscanthus x Giganteus as a viable energy crop. Besides using the tall grass as an alternative energy source (Briquetting and Pelletizing) we discovered that Miscanthus Giganteus makes an excellent privacy screen. In relation to that use, our deer population increased dramatically. The miscanthus field is being used as a bedding/hide area for deer, quail, and turkey.
Since the crop is a non-invasive/sterile hybrid, we supply the rhizomes so others may grow this amazing grass for their own needs.
In an attempt to find an alternative energy bio-diesel source, Maple River Farms came across Xanthoceras Sorbifolium, a northern, cold hardy, oil tree. In 2012 we began establishing our orchard with the hope of integrating this crop into our alternative energy endeavors. Currently, we have seeds/nuts and tree seedlings for sale and tea coming soon.

Return Policy - Rhizomes (MxG)
Refunds will be provided if requested by the following dates:
100% refund if requested BEFORE May 1st
50% of a refund if requested BETWEEN May 2nd - May 14th
There will be NO REFUNDS May 15th or after
If an order is NOT paid before May 1st, your order will be cancelled after SEVERAL attempts of contact. All checks must be received BEFORE May 1st.
Checks being mailed:
April Shipments: If we do not receive a check within 2 weeks BEFORE your ship date, your order will be cancelled after several attempts of contact.
If ordering later in April or beginning of May, your payment may be after May 1st with checks. However, checks must be sent immediately. Please be aware that your order will be held until the check is received.
We highly recommend checks due to non-cash payments have a 3% fee added. If picking up, you may pay with cash, check, or card.
Warranty Policy: Please contact us for replacement information if the Yellowhorn Trees or Miscanthus fail to meet your expectations. We are here to help you and take care of your needs.
